Tosin Kalejaye is a self-taught contemporary visual artist from Abuja, Nigeria. From early childhood, Tosin has had a keen interest in drawing portraits. He uses his art as an instrument to convey his ideas about modern society and the everyday Black experience. His art, comprising of storytelling, representation, identity and historical documentation, is intended to incite emotion in its viewers. In his words, his art initiates conversations, action and acts a catalyst for the liberation of one’s consciousness.
